I also like the originally released version. It reminds of Village Green Preservation.

Given a choice I'd probably say that I like the older version better. I don't feel as negatively as you about his voice now but it's undeniable that at least some of the tenderness and charm has left.

I don't agree with you about Dylan's voice. One of the appealing things about his new stuff is his aging voice makes him sound more like a 'real' blues man.

You can find the original Smile stuff on soulseek or whatever, just keep checking. It's too bad Mike Love had to be such a dick about it because I'm sure it would have been a great masterpiece if taken to fruition.

BTW, if you haven't already, I recommend checking out the album 'Holland'.

I have Holland. Love it, especially the Mt. Vernon Fairy Tale. Brian does a voice that sounds strangely similar to Mr. Hanky or Towelie from South Park. Also love the "California Saga" and "Steamboat".

If anyone is at all interested in a copy of the SMiLE boot I think this one on the traders den (legal torrent site FYI) would fit curiosities: http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...ad.php?t=13972

Membership is required and I don't want to come off like I am promoting something, just throwing it out there.

No, I agree, the second part was a joke and I tried to denote that with the smiley.

Still is annoying when people try plugging their sites on here.

Ah well, lets go back to talking about SMiLE. Good album. Personally, I prefer the original 1966-67 versions to the 2004 Smile, though it is nice to have that sense of completeness that the 2004 version gives us. Maybe a SMiLE sessions box set will eventually come out. I hope.
