Zola,

Is it just the Holy Ghost selections or Alyer as a whole?

I really liked Alyer early on, and now I've removed all my Ayler stuff out of my 'Stellar Jazz' file

Oh boy

I'm drunk

But let me remind you

Ayler is a master of mixing the avant-garde with the traditional.

Out of all those who are deeply influenced by Coltrane and never played (except rarely I guess) with him he's the best.

He's great.

I don't man what to say,,,

Love Ayler don't make me sad

Yeah, I guess it's just Ayler. I became really indifferent to his sound. I still put him on now and then, but I never think "Man, I wanna groove with some Ayler." I do that with others - Monk, Tatum, Webster, Allsion, The Hawk, Adderley (Nat, that is), Morgan - but I find whenever I put Ayler on, I listen to a couple tunes and I'm spent.
I just like my jazz more melodic, I guess.

Moe, I think we had better call off the firing squad!

So Zola, does that mean you don't go in for late period Coltrane and Ornette and Cecil and so on?

I prefer the earlier stuff, yes.
