The D return!

Man, I’ve always said that Jack Black and Kyle Gass need to make another album… the first one was so hilarious. Looks like they did that and then some. Their movie Pick of Destiny comes out November 22nd. I’m sure the soundtrack won’t be too far behind.

Have your heard the new songs yet? I love them, especially Kickapoo and Dude I Totally Miss You. Can't wait to watch them on the big screen this week!

I got the album and after listening to it a bit. I'd have to stick by my original opinion that it is a little weak compared to the first album. I realize that the songs from the first one had been in development for a while, but some of the tracks on this release just seem like filler and movie promo. There are some really excellent tracks on it, so to me it's still worth the price of admission. However, I would by lying if I didn't say I was a little disappointed.

I haven't heard it yet, but all my friends who have say more or less exactly this, so I'm not expecting genius out of it, album or movie. Still plenty excited though.

Afterthought: What really brought the first D album home was that the songwriting could carry through any jokes that didn't fly. Jack Black has a great voice, and the two of them wrote great melodies for him to sing, so the album had listens in it past the time when it wasn't funny anymore. If the new one loses that melodic sensibility it won't be worth much.
