The Stooges don't make it. What a joke. No Stooges fan should care but it certainly shows how little they know and understand about rock'n'roll.

Look Satch...you and I both know that they haven't inducted all the deserving bands and artists of the 60s and 70s yet. Why do the 80s until that's done?

Ok, that makes more sense. The way you had it before; made it seem like you thought that they still needed to record something in the future to make them worthy.
While I agree with you, I still think the concept of a R&R HOF to be oxymoronic.
It's foundation is still a sham, I might add.

Yeah, why do all the other Hall of Fames in the US only admit one person per year, to my knowledge. Why would R&R be any different if it wasn't anything other than a ploy for bringing in money and advertising. I wonder if the people in charge actually think their work is meaningful?

Actually baseball lets a few guys in. Cal Ripken and Tony Gwynn are both in as of a couple days ago. McGwire got hosed big time, which is not good news for 21st Century Steroid Man, who still doesn't actually have a deal with the Giants...
I am pretty sure the other halls let a handful of people in.

Considering the amount of musicians in comparsion to pro athletes for example, they have to let in more than a couple at a time.
That's not why the Foundation is a sham. I went into it before. It was set up to help musicians in need. The purpose of the HOF and Induction Banquet was to help rasie funds for the Foundation. It very rarely does help anyone, however. The only ones that profit are those that work for the Foundation, especially it's director.

You mean Mr. "I never failed a drug test....wink, wink."?

Except for the one he failed for amphetamines (and blamed on a teamate a la Rafael Palmeiro) hehe
It is too bad that the Foundation does nothing it purports to do, because that would actually make this silly HOF idea a little more palatable. It's little more than a self-congratulatory whos-who, much like the MTV Video Awards ("here are the best videos that WE showed you!").
And yeah, I still don't see they we aren't letting Chic in. I mean, they let Otis Redding in
EDIT: Bonds actually cleared Mark Sweeney and apologized for his name being dragged into the story, so I should at least correct that. He didn't say anything about the drug test or how Sweeney got mentioned in the first place...but his apology was more than I would have expected from Bonds. What this means is that now he actually looks down and sees someone, aka Mr Viagara. That might be a first.
