Yeah, that works for me as well.

Funny. I always liked their less known music better. I can consider myself as a Doors fan.
There is one Doors-song I really really hate though. Light my fire has probably the most annoying intro ever. It's the worst sound I ever heard!

L.A. Woman is their best album by far. Check that one out, besides their compilations.
Their live albums kick ass as well.

Love the Doors. Always have, although I think they're a very subjective band. I just can't agree that "L.A. Woman" is their best album. I've played all six of their original studio albums time and time again...and "L.A. Woman" just doesn't sit as well with me as "Strange Days", "The Soft Parade" or even their self-titled debut.

I keep going back from time to time and listening to their stuff as well as a lot of other things I dislike. My tastes change, but still throughout the years I remain indifferent to them. I've heard their entire catalog many times, due to a friend of mine that loves them, but it has never clicked no matter how many times I try.

As I've been thinking about it one of the things that erks me is that at times I find Jim to be a tad on the indulgent side. Not to say he doesn't have some great lyrics, but sometimes I just can't take it.

Big Doors fan as a pre-teen and through high school, and I continued to listen to them regularly into my twenties. These days I generally only listen to the first two albums, which I think are as essential as any other non-Beatles release rock release from the 60's, especially Strange Days.

The band themselves were highly competent, and of course much has been said about Morrison. I'm one of those people who would agree with most of the hype.
