Best Metallica Line up

Over the years Metallica has gone through many line up changes
leaving James And Lars As The Only Two Original Members..
My personal favourite line up had to be The third line up of James Lars kirk and Cliff

Who was your favorite line up, Who would you like to see back in the band?
1.James hetfeild, Lars Ulrich, Dave Mustane, Ron Mcgovney
2.James hetfeild, Lars Ulrich, Dave Mustane, Cliff Burton
3.James hetfeild, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammet, Cliff Burton
4.James Hetfeild, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammet, Jason Newstead
5.James Hetfeild, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammet, Bob Rock (st.anger was a great album i don't care what anyone says)
or the current line up of
6.James Hetfeild, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammet, Rob Trujilo

I excluded Lyod Grant for the simple reason that there is only one track that i know of that he has played on (how many people know what i'm talking about?)
Listened to Black Sabbath with NIB

I think 2 and 3 were the best line ups
Dave mustane was an insane guitar player and would have taken the band in a whole different direction
Had Dave stayed in the band I don't think there would ever have been Load Or Reload Albums

I like Mustaine far better than Hammett, but then again I like many guiarists better than Hammett. But seeing as the pretty boy was on their best material, there is no question that lineup 3 is the best. Eveything after that sucked, and everything before it was not yet developed.

I have no idea who Lyod Grant happens to be. On the other hand, I do know Lloyd Grant and he played on a total of 4 tracks.

You can find James, Lars, Ron Mcgovney, Dave Mustaine and Lloyd Grant on three cover songs that have not been officially released.

Sucking My Love
Let It Loose
Killing Time

He is also on the demo of Hit the Lights with Mustaine. On which James plays rhythm guitar and bass.

Since I am probably the only one to have seen each version the best was the third one with Burton.

Everyone seems to forget that they would have never lasted past the first record, if that, if they didn't get rid of Mustaine.

I'm a Newsted man. He's the one that started me playing the bass. He's also the only one in the post-justice metallica who stayed himself. The succes didn't go to his head. He's probably the nicest person ever to be in Metallica.
