I'm surprised at how many Bach fans there are.. I think I may be one of the few people who aren't a fan of the Baroque period, huh.. Romantic and then Impressionism are my favorites... followed by late Classical, I'd say.

Gustav Holst would be at the top of my list.

Mozart (WA)
Bach (JS)

I'm sorry to be so unoriginal, but geniuses are what they are right?

Vivaldi (though he repeats himself way too often)
Albinoni
Haydn

The last 2 could well be others..... There are many great composers but none of them really stick out like JS or WA. Anyway they show it's all Baroque and Classical for me. Ok mostly. Maybe I should add Palestrina. And Sor (coz I like playing his music).

While he lived in the U.S., Antonin Dvorak spent his Summers living with Czech settlers in a small town in Iowa. He said he was happy there and managed to compose a great deal of music during his stays.
