I've only listened to the Brawlers disc at work, so I haven't had a chance to give it the listen it deserves. Tonight though I shall test the limit of my speakers.

If you like his recent non-play related stuff then you are going to love this. This to me seems to be the pinnacle of the style he's been developing in the last few studio albums.

Haven't gotten the new stuff, but picked up Swordfishtrombones yesterday. Maybe I'll ask for the new one for the holidays.

I Just listened to the Bawlers disk and HOLY CRAP! It's better then Brawlers disc, which is one of the finest examples of blues I've heard in a long time. Zola you need to check some tunes off that one. I'm saving Bastards till when I don't have to work in the morning.

I finally got my copy in the mail today. I've only listened to a few songs, but I'm digging Brawlers at the moment.

Only listened to Bawlers yet, favourite songs: "Bend Down the Branches", "Shiny Things", "If I Have to Go", "Take Care of All My Children" and "Young at Heart".

Tomorrow I start on one of the others.

You can start by listing it on "Fresh Albums"

I`m listening to a "sample" of Brawlers right now. I can see myself get into this with some listens. Have listened to one of his CDs before, but as mentioned it was somewhat uneven.
Listened to Tom Waits with Bottom Of The World

I bought this one for myself during Christmas. I`ve listened to bawlers and bastards numerous times. The bawlers cd was a really good one to getting the sting out of hearing those Christmas songs on repeat. A really nice record! A bit expensive at the moment, but absolutely worth it.

Which of the cds do others here prefer. I would say bawlers, bastards and then the brawlers disc somewhat behind. The "Road To Peace" is so concrete it gets old before you hear it.
