In case of Philistines....break out DA MONK.

1 & 2. Live in Paris, Vol. 1-3
3. Live in New York, Vol. 1 & 2

You can only get these directly from the Monk Estate. Most of which hasn't been heard before....that includes bootlegs, Baby! These are not CDR's....it's the real deal. They were also remasterd by Rudy Van Gelder, who actually did great job.

The Paris discs are the best sounding. The New York set are the earliest known recordings that include Charlie Rouse.

There're two others, as well. The family is also sitting on about 150hrs of unreleased Monk, which were recorded at the Baroness Pannonica de Koenigswarter's house.

YO!

P.S. For the Philistines amongst you....two of the greatest musicians in music died in two seperate places that the Baroness' lived in....DA BIRD and DA MONK!

All these songs were named after her.

Gigi Gryce - Nica's Tempo
Sonny Clark - Nica
Horace Silver - Nica's Dream
Kenny Dorham - Tonica
Kenny Drew - Blues for Nica
Freddie Redd - Nica Steps Out
Barry Harris - Inca
Tommy Flanagan - Thelonica

and of course....DA MONK's Pannonica. DA MONK's Ba-lue Bolivar Ba-lues-are is named after her second home, which he lived in for the last 9-years of his life.

Oh, I see, about the saxophone being messed up.

P.S. For the record, I hadn't read the liner notes in the first place.
