Exclamation db Glitch VST

Well, I had to check it out first, and I was almost a bit too enthusiastic to share it with the world. This thing is the childhood of the most perfect live action VST I have seen up until this very instant.

I'm making this bold statement, because first and most important:
Even though it sounds phat and is easy to control, it doesn't use a lot of RAM or CPU! And this is what I like most about it. It also sounds great, and is easy to control! What more do you want!!

The concept is quite simple. There's a little sequencer in the plug-in that controls which effects are played in a row. There's also a little color panel which allows you to pick a color (each color representing an effect) and draw your own piece of art in the arrangement line.

For example, in de picture above, Glitch would constantly play the red effect, the tape stop. All effects are marked by the color, and the white one is of course the (very enjoyable) random function, with which all the basic presets are filled. Since there's only 1 arrangement line, it is only possible to play one effect at the time. Even though the effects itself are not that genius, the choice of them is, and it is a lot of fun just drawing a little (with the very intuitive left-right mouse button draw option).

In this second view, the delay is inserted after 8 bars, and will play till the end of the loop. This way the inputted signal constantly switching between two effects in a constant rhythm, and that's the trick. Since most of the effects also have beat count synced modulation, the more effects you put in the arrangements row, the more it becomes an IDM super machine. All effects are also easily hooked up to a midi controller, so live fun is guaranteed.

I derive the most pleasure from hooking up the pattern selector to my midi controller (yeah baby, yeah!) after filling the pattern banks with my colorful artwork. If Glitch is used on multiple audio channels and all channels have the same pattern selected, the effects can be huge. You can also choose a more conventional route by switching between the presets, so each audio channel gets a different effect treatment.

Since this plug-in is free to download, I would suggest you pay the man's website a visit, and honor him by giving it a spin!
