Favorite Instrument

I was just wondering what everyones favorite instrument was and why. It don't matter if you can play it or not.

Of course the guitar...it is so versatile...any style, can be solo or part of a band, sounds great if only accompanied by vocal too, can be played very technical or simply strummed.

It's the blankest musical canvas I can think of and the cornerstone of composition for Western music.

Man...the bass playing on Elvis Costello's second record is FANTASTIC!!!
There is a song called I Don't Want To Go To Chelsea that sounds to me like it influenced (not JUST the bass playing) the Red Hot Chilli Peppers a lot.
