If people want to talk they should just go to a regular bar. Why pay to see a band if you don't want to listen? I certainly do have the nerve to say something if it's an important show to me. Heck, some of the concerts I've been to are among the most important events in my life.

I've been lucky to be at concerts where the people are respectful.
And I've definately been to many concerts where people do not talk, simply because they would not be able to hear themselves talking

Three words.... THE SHADOWS, Baby!
Try going to a Keith Jarrett performance. He will scold a crowd if they make noise or take pictures. Then while he plays, he will proceed to make more noise than the crowd came close to making.
A Keith Jarret parody.

I hear drunks standing on chairs fall down when they're off balance, or their chair is accidentally pushed/kicked. If they keep getting back on the chair, I hear it happens again until they get the hint. Keep in mind, those that know about such things can take care of themselves if needed. Not that I am saying, I personally know anything about this or suggesting anything.

Yeah, when I saw him he got really mad at people who were taking pictures. He was threatening to stop the concert right there. Considering that was after the second or third encore, out of how many I can't remember and don't feel like looking up (I know I posted it), I'm not sure that anyone really felt threatened.

Man, Keith Jarret. I love Korea but absolutely no one comes here to put on shows. James Brown was here a few months ago but I couldn't make it to the show (he played at 8:00 on a Friday night, I didn't finish work until 10:00...). There was a "music" festival here two weekends ago, the Incheon Music Festival, an extension of the Sonic Festival in Japan, but boy did that suck. A three day festival: Friday headliner - The Strokes. Saturday headliner - Black Eyed Peas. Sunday headliner - I don't remember, but be certain that they sucked. I didn't go to the festival.
Man, I would love to get yelled at by Keith Jarret.

It can be horrible sometimes. It's especially bad here at the Paradiso, in the small hall especially. I saw Supersilent there last year, during the Night of the Unexpected and they were clearly irritated by the people talking at the bar. They didn't say anyting about it, it just resulted in them playing louder to scare some people away
It's worst when there's a cheap late-night concert, lots of people coming to socialize, mainly.

He and many others come to the area, but it's usually going to be Japan. Japan actually has more Jazz fans than the U.S. He has played in Japan over 150 times, and his trio has 5 concerts scheduled for 2007.
April 30, 2007: Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Tokyo
May 3, 2007: Osaka Festival Hall, Osaka
May 6, 2007: Kanagawa Kenmin Hall, Yokohama
May 8, 2007: Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Tokyo
May 10, 2007: Tokyo Kosei Nenkin Kaikan, Tokyo

Well all of the concerts I go to are rock/metal so if your not making noise you must be dead.

I'm completely with you on that one. I don't think I do anything with my time that I enjoy more than concert going. It's what I spend my money on, it's the only thing I make long term plans concerning, and when i go i don't want the performance ruined by two fourteen year old girls who like to pretend to be John Butler Trio fans talking the entire time. Really what irks me the most is local acts who don't have the stage presence or fan base to command as much attention, and don't get it even though their music surpasses, say snow patrol.
