I believe you mean, they're about as Punk as Blink-182 or Sum 41. Meaning they're not Punk. They're all watered down pop-rock.

P.S. There're several bands on my list that were/are melodic.

i woudnt jump on the hardcore-wagon just like that. i think bands like nirvana or early r.e.m and stuff like the stooges are good for breaking in. then on to maybe the ramones. then its all downhill from there.
you cant excpect someone to go from blink182 to black flag like that. it happens, but not often.

I'm not looking for a big heated argument but, why do people hate Green Day so much? People claim that they're not a real punk band and their sell-outs and such.

I think that people today are too taken in my genres. If you ask Blink 182 haters why they don't like them, they'd probably say because they're a candy-ass pop-punk band. I don't like Blink 182 just because I don't like their music.

Green Day makes some pretty good music, and all-right lyrics. It takes talent to do what they have done. I believe, and this is my opinion, that Green Day is more talented that alot of punk bands out there who scream their lyrics.

Just my opinion
