But they are! I understand how you come to the defensive right away when I speak down about the music you listen to but at one point I was misguided in the same sense you are, bands like taking back sunday and saves the day were some of my favorites but then one day it just hit me, their all the exact same.
I'll break down these bands, in my eyes of course:
Blink 182, I have every album up to enema of the state. Travis is a great drummer but thats about the only good thing I can say about them anymore. Aside from Travis their just a pop punk band trying to be funny, a lot like what greenday started with dookie.
Sum 41 I know nothing about.
New Found Glory, come on their practically pop stars.
Yellowcard, same as new found glory but with some guy on the fiddle.
Something Corporate, if you like them just because you play piano I can name two pianists/keyboard players, Richard Wright from Pink Floyd and Page McConnell from Phish, right off the top of my head that play much nicer piano parts. Other then a piano they are just pop punk.
The Offspring. Could never really get into them but I did see them just after Ixnay on the Hombre and it was a pretty good show.
I only have one Greenday album and that is Dookie and I think its a pretty good CD. It set the foundation for pretty much all of the bands you've listed to be able to break out, their like what nirvana is to grunge only pop punk.
Dashboard Confessional. Sounds like just another whiny singer songwriter to me, but this one has a thesaurus! He just dresses up tired ideas and little girls read it as poetic.
Now for why I dislike Pop-punk. I consider it to be the junk food of music right now along side commercialzed rap. There is no insight to this music, it just relates to teens by providing them with an identity and that is the confusion of starting to have feelings for the opposite sex. It channels this in the form of pop punk IE yellowcard with the fiddle player, which is like the ceral aisle at the grocery store; it looks like you have so many options but when it boils down to it their all just sweetened corn and rice.
My biggest problem with pop punk is the lack of thought that it provides. Instead of thought provoking it is mind numbing, pushing you further and further to dwell on suzy q and fridays dance instead of exploring you're insturment. Why do you think their is no one over the age of 19 at these shows?
I think Fugazi said it best with you're concern with the radio, "Nevermind what's been selling its what your buying!"
But hey atleast you play the piano. Not to be on Panbient's dick or anything but I think hes got a great post relating to this issue:

And please all the bands you've talked about already have their own thread, I think yellowcard has like 10, just check a few pages back in the punk section.
