However if that bon jovi song is really in your top 75 I really do think you should consider exploring new music.

I came here to discuss the sort of music that I like, but from what I've seen, nobody else here enjoys my listening style.

I'm satisfied with with what I have, and I do not rate music based on any guideline other than how the overall sound appeals to me.

That's why I have It's My Life, Beat It, and Perfect Dark on my list. They all have the type of sound that appeals to me.

Call me low class if you want, but I've never heard of most of the artists that are discussed here.

I posted my list to see what everybody thinks of it, and I got my wish. My music is apparently too low class for this forum.

Unless there are some people on here that do like my listening style, I will leave this forum after this thread dies, and I don't expect to be missed.

Ok, I haven't bothered with this thread because there was no point....but no one is calling you low class. If I thought someone was even implying that, I would say something about it to them.

What they're saying is in regards to your commment that you don't plan on listening to any other music, but those 75 songs the rest of your life.

Me, I take into account your age and figure you will grow out of such narrow mindset. If you were in your 30's, I would comment about something so absurd.

Why bother with a message board if you're not going to try to pick up on some new stuff, X?

I definitely don't plan on listening to only my list for the rest of my life, but it'll definitely keep me satisfied for at least a year or so.

Also, a lot of the songs on my list are taken from CD and vinyl albums that I own. The other songs on them are definitely worth listening to.

Since I'm satisfied with what I have now, I don't have any real reason to go looking for new stuff to listen to just yet. And by the time I'm tired of what I have, new stuff will probably have come my way without me having to go looking for it.

and herein lies the difference between you and most of the other people on these forums. you're a passive listener, content with what you have and ready to take what's offered to you, without having to go looking for it. the rest of us (for the most part) are active listeners, we hunt it out wherever we can find it, we arern't content to just let it come to us. if that's your deal then that's fine, it's got absolutely nothing to do with class.

the people here aren't crapping on 'it's my life' because it's low class. they crap on it because it's formulaic cliched radio rock with a chorus that has a hook the size of rhode island. it's the most basic paint by numbers tune out there - verse / chorus / verse / bridge / chorus x2. voila. it was written to sell records

I can't stand bon jovi but I have to tell you that they have a lot better songs than It's My Life. Thats all.

Doesn't formulaic cliched radio rock = low class?

It might be a generic song, but to me it sounds a lot better than most of the stuff on mainstream radio.

I don't care about how it's formulated. All I know is that I like it, and I can't really explain it.

If I ever did feel the need to go looking for new music, I'd probably try out more stuff from the Aggrotech genre.
