If he represents "new country" I don't think I'd even consider going to his concert...not even to heckle.

well, he knows a good gravy train when he sees one, I'll give him that. That's pretty much all I'll give him. He strikes me as someone who sought a career in country music much as others might go to business school.
I hear a lot of chest thumping and flag waving but I don't hear a lot of love for country music.

but, 50,OOO,OOO Toby Keith fans can't be wrong.
I think he plays music in the same spirit my plumber fixes sinks.

I have, most unfortunately, heard some of his music. I generally don't like country music except for a handful of artists such as Johnny Cash and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Toby Keith is about as interesting to me as watching paint dry.

If you like him, great. But I'm not a fan.
