Oh, I'm not like against my teacher just because he doesnt recognise the clarinet greatly as a jazz instrument. He is a good teacher, and we play really really good jazz music! I was concerned and stuff.

He also must not be a fan of Duke Ellington's Big Bands or several of Duke's compositions that feature the clarinet.

Actually, no he isn't and you should be concerned. If it was bop of some sort, I could understand it....but Big Band....that's just incompetence.

We're not talking about classical music, but I have doubts about that. As a Jazz teacher, he is incompotent.
