Unhappy Rip Syd Barret

RIP SYD BARRET!!! I'm really surprised the media hasn't picked up on this story. Does anyone even know how he died? Syd was the freaking best its such a shame ...

See the thread about this in the main rock section... There are links to detailed stories about his death (and life)...

Over here (Australia) I was surprised at how much news coverage his death did get. It was on every news yesterday, with old floyd footage and a story about his life. I turned on the radio yeaterday morning and they were playing Lucifer Sam. Considering he left the band before they really became popular and he was so reclusive I was surprised that the mainstream non music press picked up on it.

I too was shocked as to how much news coverage Syd's death received... Even Fox News did a clip on it... Either the baby boomer culture has taken over or people are starting to realize that rock music goes beyond just pop culture... Because the averge Joe had no clue as to who Syd was...
