Grugs I have a feeling, this my not be correct, that you are after the melodic style of punk that has become popular with the masses since blink/green day exploited the style. If that is the case I think you should check out some of the DESCENDENTS old material (Milo goes to college is my fave). Also BAD RELIGION up to their generator album is great(try no control, suffer or against the grain). NOFX up to and including their punk in drublic album is awesome (try Ribbed, white trash too heebs and a bean, S & M Airlines). You should also check out the PROPAGANDHI album "how to clean everything" as it is a gem from start to finish.

Not all of this stuff is new school (except the propaghandi) but it is the good stuff that really influenced all of those (often lame) new school "punk" bands.

I not sure if I'm right on this time wise, but The Living End is a real good band.

They are good, they are even better live than they are recorded so check them out it you ever get a chance
