3. Groucho was Jewish, so, keep in mind the quote has a deeper meaning that many never realize. Not that I am saying you might not have caught it.
2. Both of those things. Maybe he had said that members were required to donate art to the club or something to that effect. What I remember is a mention of having art or something.. but from what you've said and what I've read I may have misheard or misinterpreted what he said.

3. I actually didn't realise Groucho was Jewish, so yeah, that bit went right over my head...

I find it funny about blaming it on The Beatles and Robbie Williams. As if two records will cause a 15% drop in revenue.

But my favorite part is the opening sentence....

"This unprecedented level of market decline has led to an exceptionally high level of product returns,"

I don't get what they are trying to say. That every product sold equals high returns or that people are happy with every product they buy.

Or something else altogether.

I've never liked radio. I prefer listening to music out of my own collection, that way I know what I listen to will be good.

Just the same, I would assume the media form won't die, it will simply take on a new persona to suit the changing technology. I predict that at some point within this century, the only entertainment unit people will have in their households will be the computer.

I think internet radio is a lost cause. It can be around indefinitely since it is of no cost to run, but why tune into a station when you can just turn on itunes?

You never listened to the radio TheZola? For me that was such a crucial starting point for getting into music and discovering new bands. Now I only really enjoy a couple local stations and that is only in the car if anywhere.

I think in the household radio is pretty much done for. People don't need the radio or tv for learning about new music, and like you said, the computer is and will continue to be the center of that.

But even that will continue to change form which should be interesting to see.

I think the highpoint of music technology will be when you can stream music to anywhere. Instead of limiting yourself with a hard drive on an mp3 player you'll just carry around a little device that syncs with your computer at home. Select what you want in real time and stream it. Very nice.

But of course we've got some time until that, now lets see that 6th Gen ipod already!!

When I was very young I did enjoy listening to rock radio stations, and eventually both my tests, and the content of the stations, went in wildly opposite directions. I haven't been able to tolerate anything but a random underground or college station for more than 20 years. In my car, I listen to the news long enough to get the sports and the traffic. Then it's time for my Ipod.

It will be interestng to see what happens to the adio overall, but almost exclusively from an outsider's perspective. What I would miss is being able to listen to sports on the radio, because I do not have TV.
