Any Dead Voices On Air fans in here?

I read that Mark Spybey finished a new album and will be releasing it on Invisible! He is also doing another collaboration w/ Dave Wright of Not Breathing!

FINALLY. Some new material for DVOA fans!!!

well Not Breathing came out with a 12" on Terminal Dusk earlier this year called 'Minotaur' I believe and it was an IDM/Experimental madfest. I do enjoy a little Dead Voices on Air every once in awhile, but it's sparsely...thanks for the heads up.

...and by the way Mark Spybey and Robin Storey are back together with Andrew Eardley on the new (old) project of Reformed Faction (of Soviet France). They recently came out with 2 albums called 'The Reformed Faction of Soviet France' and 'Vota'. I haven't checked them out yet, but I'm definitely going to.

The ‘minotaur’ 12 isn’t available to download anywhere is it? I don’t have the means to play vinyl. I always liked Not Breathing. His early stuff is better, IMO, but his new stuff isn’t bad.

I thought that the two Reformed Faction releases were the same… initially the album was called, 'The Reformed Faction of Soviet France,’ but then had to change the name to 'Vota' b/c of pressure from other Soviet France members (that were not in the reformed version).

I could be completely misinformed about that though.

yeah, they were pressured to change the name and that's probably why they came out with 2 different versions. I didn't look at the tracklistings, so that's probably true.

it's just sad that people that didn't make much money to begin with off of their project would bitch about them using that name.

Hi, Mark Spybey here:
HAPPY to set the record straight.
we were under no pressure from anyone to change our name.
we changed it because it was a mistake using it in the first place.
it is a millstone we can do without carrying.
we have careers of our own and the band is making music that we think has an identity of it's own.
we all contributed to zoviet france to varying degrees and you're right, we don't get much credit for that but it's no big deal.
no point sweating the small stuff.
there is only one album, it's called VOTA on Klanggalerie but there is another coming out on Soleilmoon in a handmade sleeeve in the autumn and we're playing live in east germany in september.
details are on my site: http://www.spybey.net
there are lots of other shows materialising.

hope this clears things up.

best,
Mark.
