Ease up old chap. I'm grumpy before work. And right after, and NOW is right after. I'd rip yer boys with me bare 'ands!

And I really don't know any other GREAT compilation.

Essential Springsteen? Nope, not complete.
Tom Waits, The early years? Nope, same reason.

Story of the clash? Nope, where the hell is Jimmy Jazz, Hateful,...??

The best of the doors? Incomplete again.

Essential Dylan? All the good songs are there, but way too much crap!! We could have done with a single album. (stone me now)

But seriously, I like the way Floyd put together Echoes. Stellar job with Shine On... being combined into one piece of music.

I think that record has five post-Waters tracks though. That garbage just does not hang with the real Floyd.

I think ECHOES is a good call though. I like the atmosphere.

And I went through the collection and found some more good ones: (and loads of bad, but that's not what it's about now, is it)

James Brown - 40th anniversary collection
Otis Redding - The very best
Ramones - Anthology (quite complete in my opinion. All the greats are there.)

They do do a good job with that Ramones one.

Goozeman....you should check out Brown's Star Time....

They released a 50th Anniversary version (50 hits now) in 2003, which was actually his 47th Anniversary.

Those that are interested in Otis are better off with Otis! The Definitive Otis Redding.

Can't say I disagree with that. I don't even consider the post-Waters albums to be Pink Floyd myself.

Well, you might not want to consider Waters-era Pink Floyd to be Pink Floyd either, since that was a dramatic departure from the band they were when Syd was still in.
