I like Franco, Ali Farka Toure, Fela Kuti and those type of guys and pretty much everything I've heard on Nonesuch Explorer.

Nonesuch is a great label... some really nice recordings by them.

Check out 'african guitar summit' if you like those artists.... amazing recording (that's the name of the group, btw)

My current world nuggets are Cafe Tacuba, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, Fela Kuti as always, Malibran, Shakti, Tabla Beat Science, and pretty much anything involving Zakir Hussain.

as most already know I'm all for the scandinavian stuff: hedningarna, garmarna, gjallarhorn,... all the way. I also dig some flemish, Irish and other stuff. but there's still lots to discover for me under the rather ridiculous "world" label.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=glance&n=5174

And this one which is reissue but the one I have is strictly from Mali but has 'Tuareg Medicinal Chant' which is really wild sounding.

On a less traditional note I've also gotten oodles of pleasure out of this one

I like Caetano Veloso and Milton Nascimento (both from Brazil), Clannad and Iona (both from Ireland), Afro Celt Sound System, Nigerian juju music (most notably Ebenezer Obey), and various artists whom I've sampled on numerous compilations over the years. There's so much great stuff out there that I could never get to it all, but I like to at least get a sampling.
