ICP isn't exactly original either. The guys are wrestlers - so for them, image is extremely important. But the death clown thing was done waaaay before by a band called Mr Bungle which did that for a blast and not as a gimmick. So many things that ICP do scream "gimmick". Especially the Faygo thing. But then again, they're wannabe wrestlers so the gimmick is all-important for them.

You are probubly one of the people that likes "poppy" music and not real music. I actually listen to music. If you actually like "rap", REAL rap, then you would listen to music like Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony, Three 6 Mafia, Lil' Wyte, T.I., Youngbloodz, Lil'Scrappy, Ludacris(in some songs), I-20, SPM, ABK, C-Murder, 8 Ball, Eminem, Drive-By, Twiztid, Lil' Wayne, Blaze, KMK, Gena, and AMB. ICP has done songs with all except 2 or 3 of these people. These guys are actuall rappers, not like Nelly, Fat Joe, Diddy, Sean Paul, or Chamillionare.

The difference is that people like Nelly and Fat Joe do a few good songs when ever they first came out on the music scene, but after their 1st CD, they get money and they change, they change alot. They get too absessed with getting girls. The girls get to them and makes them go pop!! SPM, is one of the greatest rappers that I have heard of since Pac!!! He was a former cocane dealer, who came up through drugs and the street, but got into music, stopped selling for a living, and never changed!!

well first off i'm digging on poopy not poppy. it wasn't a typo the track is actually called 'slowly growing deaf' from mr. bungle's self titled major label debut. if you want to call it poppy i guess you can... there is after all that atari sample in there.

as far as rap goes i'm not a huge fan aside from the beastie boys. but i still enjoy a trip down memory lane with some classic cypress hill or snoop dogg's debut my first taste of flea's bass playing was from young mc's 'bust a groove' and 'principal's office' hehehe

oh yeah... that bungle track is miles beyond anything i've heard by ICP but the pooping only goes on for the last minute

well at this point i'm coming in on your insinuation that i'm some musical ignorant content to feed of "poppy" music as opposed to the real stuff.

you want to read depth into the words from a couple of professional wrestling sideshow clowns, that's fine by me. personally i figure they're laughing their asses off all the way to the bank on your dollar, but i'm a pessimist.

it's not that i don't like rap it's that i haven't heard enough to hold my interest. i find the bulk of it boring in the same way i find the bulk of all music genres boring. maybe i'm just a snob or maybe once i've gone over an idea a few times i don't need endless reiterations from 'new' artists trudging along the same paths.

i also know how to spell probably correctly.

and beans is awesome. http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p...ekqoaualijb~T0

and did you check that bungle track?

I listened to Beans, but all I could get was snipets. I tried to get that Bungle song, but I couldn't find a site to listen to it on.

I am not trying to start stuff here, but you can't just dump a certain kind of music, because of the people that do that kind of music. I like some lighter music, not much, but I still don't tell people that their music is a complete joke. That ruins the whole music really, because music is not supposed to be something to tear people away from other people.

Post links for those songs and I will check them out!

i never said it was a joke. only that i don't care for it. like i said if you want to find depth in it then go right to it. personally from what little i've heard from ICP i haven't been inclined to look into more of it. then again i feel the same way about eminem and most of the MTV school of 'real' rap. even though i'm not a huge fan i can still tell the difference between something that is solid and something that is solidified to sell copies.

i don't know of any site that would actually have a mr. bungle song listed for download but their first album should be easy to find on any file sharing application.
