Gnarls Barkley

Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse recently collaborated on a new project called Gnarls Barkley. The album St. Elsewhere is available now, I've been listening to it constantly all week. I absolutely love it. Danger Mouse's drum programming and Cee-Lo's voice are very impressive and colorful on this album, rap with a very funky feel.

Has anyone else heard them yet, and if so what do you think?

Im digging this so hard. Crazy is the best single of the year so far. Their cover of the Violent Femmes Gone Daddy Gone is so rockin, and Go Go Gadget Gospel is tight. Check this video of them playing an amazing slowed down version of crazy:

Saw them at Coachella about a month ago and it was for sure one of the highlights. The band was dressed up as characters from the wizard of oz. Cee-lo was the lion, danger mouse the tin man, the band witches, and the string section was dressed up as the flying monkeys. It was badass.

Crazy is on the radio all the time (great song), but I thought the rest of it also would be dance music, is this not the case? Is it rap?

what do you mean with dance music? and anyway cee-lo rather sings in a soulful way than that he raps, but yeah I think you might like the rest of the songs as well...

Well to me it sonds a lot more like 90s dance or house, only I like this. I`ve read the interview at pitchfork now, sounds like an interesting project. They are allready working on more.

It's pretty soulful and the orchestrations are nice but all in all it strikes me as a watered-down OutKast. It also lacks the pop intelligence of Wyclef. In other words, if I'm wantin' to go that route I think there's better stuff to spend my time with.
