I don't think they'd be either/or. You rarely find anyone that says 'man, that Gescom album was so influential' like you'd hear them talk about Tri Repetae or Confield. I just think Gescom would be basically the same. Most of my reasoning is because they've never really come out with a full length album of material that would commercially expose themselves further to the public.

i love gescom and i believe they would have been bigger as not linked to autechre...although they always would have been linked to them anyways
