I think that some of the CDs mentionned were overrated (maybe because they were just out at that time) and will not stand the experience of time.

Which one do you think was the most overrated ?

after having checked the real list on that link i think
those records are very acquaintance to me as the majority of the public in here. So i guess there are the right albums located in the right positions as well the irrelevant in the list, too..
for me the overrated ones are below:

most of them might be tough though, but the ranking is meaningless. i dont agree participating these albums in there anyway..
my vote's gone to Moon Safari by Air. I remember how i was disappointed after i listened the whole album.

I voted Smashing Pumpkins – Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness. I was really expecting somthing good after hearing all their great songs that has been played on MTV. I gave it two listens and then sold it to a friend who couldn`t believe I thought it was shit.

where's the link? i can't find it... i'd rather see the whole list before making a decision... but from what's listed i'm leaning towards moby's play album as most overrated...

so great... so groundbreaking... so much use of the EXACT SAME SONG STRUCTURE OVER AND OVER AGAIN... hmmm start a beat... add a melody... counter melody... and now for the big twist that no one ever sees coming and old blues guitar sample... the first time i heard a song like that i was impressed... the 4th time i heard it IN A ROW on that cd i took it out of my player and gave it back to my friend....

I've forgotten what album it was but in the 60's or 70's there was this guy who was going to be the next big thing but was so overated that only about 10% of the records produced were bought. Anyway, the company had so many records that nobody wanted that they melted down the records and turned them into new ones!

Anyone know who this guy was?

The Prodigy – The Fat Of The Land, that is with out a doubt the most overrated album on that list. The most hyped versus failed album I can think of.

In the most recent Q awards a lot of those albums have gone down. That was like 5 years ago!
