oh and whatever they say about King for a Day, that album features some damn wicked tunes, unlike Album of the Year for example...

Faith No More is one of the bands that i always thought was highly underated. Infinately better at what they did than the Chili Peppers in my humble opinion. Speaking of which did anywhere else hear about the feud they had going on? I can't remeber if it was FNM or Mr. Bungle but one of the bands put on a show pretending to be the RHCP and proceded to play bad covers all night. Classic.

that was bungle later in their career. it was a halloween show they called the 'harro-ween' show (heroin). basically patton and the guys used to consider the chilis to be on the same level as they were. then shit went bad when the chilis started caring more about their show than their music or something. not entirely 100% on the whole deal. there might have been something about a FNM/RHCP tour getting fucked up too.

I do know that Patton put shit in a microwave, and cooked it for ten minutes, when they toured with Guns and Roses...

There is stuff I like still on Album of the Year. No question it was very weak, but as far as rock went, their title wasn't that far off from the truth...

Most of the first half of it, I think is good. It falls apart after that, and the last few tunes are more or less forgettable.

Angel Dust and King for a Day, on the other hand, are great just about the whole way through.

I really don't think Faith No More and the Chilis were doing the same thing

Me either...they just always get lumped together. I guess we can blame critics who claimed they were similar because of the funky bass.
