2. If you're talking about some other film....considering Leon and his and Jimi's half-sister Janie don't talk and Leon has no say in the running of the Estate, I doubt that the Estate is involved and they will most likely have the same issues about the music.

I never cared for bio's of musicians....most of them are crap. You rarely learn anything about the musician and they always tend to dwell on only the negatives. That's when they're not inserting or inventing things that never occurred in the musician's life.

Take that abomination by Eastwood about Bird. Outside of the fact that he was a major Heroin addict a newbie wouldn't have learned one thing about why he was one of the most important musicians in Modern Music.

I don't know if the info I read regards the same group that wanted Andre3000 in the lead or not; though, the article read, paraphrased, "the Jimi Hendrix film, that has been continously stalled...", so it would seem so. I do remember that the article was an interview with Leon to promote Keeper of the Flame. Leon mentioned that he had given his blessing for the film. I don't know to what extent that blessing goes, nor how much weight it holds, but he did indeed say as much. He also mentioned that the script is currently in rewrite and auditions were still being held for the part. I'll try to find the article. I also remember something about Tarantino directing, but that early last year. I believe Leon was on board for working with Tarantino. Oh, yes, and I'm aware of Leon's use of Jimi to sell vodka.

On that note, do you know which Jimi masters were on the auction block last November? Though I know the sale was blocked by Manhattan Federal Court Judge Lewis Kaplan, I'm curious which master recordings are being claimed and trying to be sold by Jeffrey.

I don't mind biopics, as long as they're taken with a grain of salt and with "this is still Hollywood" in mind (I give you, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. The whole kick-in-the-back scene was ridiculous. Mrs Lee-Cadwell must not have read the script beforehand). I still have yet to see Bird, though it's on the list.

That's the news. Apparently it will be based on 'The Dirt'.

1. 33 masters that Michael "the con artist and/or crook" Jeffrey's estate "claimed" they controled put up for auction. The winning bid was for $5 million and like anything involving Jeffery a lawsuit resulted.

2. Don't even get me started abomination about DA F*****G MAN Jun Fan Lee.

aka

Show me the money and I will let you film anything.

1. Wasn't it closer to 15 million, even more?

2. I think Dragon was the biggest contributor to Bruceploitation (although Bruce Lee Fights Back From the Grave and The Dragon Lives Again are certainly excellent contenders...*sigh) since it had a wider global audience. Though it claims in the opening credits to be based on Bruce Lee: The Man Only I Knew, it obviously was not.

I've got it! The feel-good movie of the year!

Mayhem: Their life and music.

They're getting Mike Meyers to play Keith Moon. That'll be interesting.
