i've got sealed headphones at the moment. my issue isn't open vs. sealed but full headphones vs. the little nubs you stick directly into your ear. i like the look of those AKGs but i'm not 100% on that headband and they look a little small for me especially where the headphones have to fit around the frame of my glasses.

Man, I didn't know any of this stuff.

Good thing I only listen to soft rock and smooth jazz.

But seriously, it looks like I need to buy new headphones or somethin' then.

How big is the frame of your glasses? My oldest brother has glasses, and he has no problems with them.

Here is a better picture.

I posted this before in relation to another topic, but it is as useful for this topic. Another reason, to consider.

I checked with the Horde, they use these for their ipods.

The AKG`s there are closed though. You have a perfect opportunity to subjectively compare open vs closed there. I think maybe closed is ok for weak sources like an ipod to provide a little more bass.

I think those particular headphones would be considered, more Noise Canceling than Closed.

hmm

My headphones are pretty much noise canceling. But I don't know the difference. I think anything other than the little nubs that come with the mp3 player is okay. I like the noise of old things.
I have ones like the AKG headphones. Are those considered sealed? I have one like those and I always thought they were sealed but now I am guessing a was wrong?

have you ever tried the noise canceling headphones in bose stores? They are pretty cool. I've been rather cheap about my headphones lately. I just use the ones that came with my ipod
