I've listened to it a couple of times... it is pretty impressive, maybe the best album of theirs to date. It actually does not bore me

I didnt quite know how to take it at first. I like all of Enslaveds releases, Below The Lights and Isa especially. They have this kind of 'wet' organic sound to them, as if you're travelling through the giant cavernous roots of Yggdrasil itself. It took a while for me to notice it, but I think whats different about Ruun is that its far more dry sounding. More like big open plains and fields and stuff, the clip for Path To Vanir is perfect. While I'd have been pleased with a sort of BTL or Isa pt 2, its great to see the band are still evolving and sounding fantastic, so I'm if anything more pleased with Ruun as it is.
Heaps good.

Enslaved has evolved alot since `91. I`ll admit `Ruun` is addictive. Well, at least I think so. At first I wasn`t so sure if I was fond of it. After repeated listening I`ve come to the conclusion that the riffing is different, more experimental. Grutle`s vocals are great as usual and the drumming is excellent. The keyboards add to the atmosphere as well. The tracks I`m most partial to are `Entroper`, `Path to Vanir`and `Ruun`.
