Shit, forget P Diddy, I don't have this yet, better hurry up and get it. Any speculation on how long it'll be around? I can't tell if this means it won't even be legal to sell it on eBay, in which case I better put the pedal to the metal.

I doubt they will be pulling it tomorrow or this week. I also would expect some sort of appeal that will lead to a stay for the time being, until the appeal is heard.

You would probably find a used copy at Amoeba.

Yeah, but I don't just go to Amoeba at the drop of a hat, and it's more of a sure thing online.

Music copyright infringement is interesting to me. Imagine that the creators of the sample- didn't steal it. It was just a coincidence that it sounds alike.

I know that the odds are against this from happening, but what if it was just a bizarre happening?

I wonder if anyone is going to create software that analyzes soundwaves to tell if there are any other songs in a music database that are "too similar".

I take it, you haven't heard about Bright Tunes Music Corp. v. Harrisongs Music, Ltd., 420 F.Supp. 177 (1976)

aka Ronald Mack who wrote The Chiffons song He's So Fine vs. George Harrison's My Sweet Lord. Harrison lost the case.

Nice.

But, imagine if an artist really hadn't heard a song he accidently mimicked. Because in this case, "Subconscious Appropriation" came into play.
