Not a Dylan guy, myself, although I really like a lot of his early acoustic stuff from the mid-60's. Had he simply never plugged in, or retired before 1970, I might have a different opinion of him. As it is, I was just never interested enough. He's probably much better than the credit I give him.

Check the Ballad of Hollis Brown. The best one chord song ever. The simplicity of the music is masked by the profound 'storytelling' of the lyrics.

Is it acoustic? I'm not all that interested in his electric output...

I drove down to Vegas yesterday to see Bob Dylan play. It was a great show. He did a great vamped up rendition of Ballad of a Thin Man.

Really, a great show? I'm always hesitant to see him, only about one out of four people I talk to who've gone say it's worth going to. Hopefully, I'll make it, one of these days.

Well I guess it depends on how badly you want to see him play. Dylan was one of those people I had to see before he hung up his hat, and for that alone, it was worth it.

The show didn't have the same energy as shows I'd been to in the past. I guess that's to be expected when you're surrounded by 60-year-olds (honestly, I'm sure there were some young people sitting sporadically throughout the crowd, but I didn't see them).

But Bob, he still puts on a great show. I'd go again in a second.

I see. I'm with you in the "have to see him before he retires" crowd, so I'll go at some point or other. I guess I'm just holding out for another $20 show at the Cal auditorium, like the one he did a couple years ago but I was away for, instead of all the $40-$50 shows.
