Hint, anyone?
I realized the other borrowed element there with the asterisk, but thought the trickiness of posting an asterisk for an asterisk was outweighed by my laziness.

I was also hoping I could blame my Rogue Agent moment on my recently mended Bipolar Disorder NOS, and still get that title sometime soon .

But back on topic...yeah Geoff, from the one time I saw Cecil perform, I was amazed. Not only by Cecil's playing but the rest of the orchestra he played with, the instruments they used, they way they played, the way that all of the musicians played around each other, the intensity of the whole performance was unlike anything I had ever experienced.

Well at least I went to some really great concerts when I visited NYC last year (including Peter Brotzmann)

It says the first photograph I posted was taken by K.Abe. Do you think the K. Abe is the Japanese Experimental Saxophonist Kaoru Abe?

wow that looks like a really cool book.

Do you have a copy of it yourself?

I wonder what musicians are photographed within.

Would you be able to advice me on some? *if you have the book

It's good, and for even $8.93 or even under $50 it's a steal. Several rare pics, and it includes the usual suspects so to speak.

You're welcome.

A few more things of interest. An example of Cecil's notation.

He dispensed with bars, time signatures.
He doesn't use notes, instead he uses alphabets.
If it's above middle C, it gets a plus.
If it's below middle C, it gets a minus.

A recent documentary on Cecil.
