the steve miller band

Even though the Steve Miller Band is usually associated with bad 70s arena rock I've heard that they are also associated with the late 60s San Francisco pychedelic scene. I've heard some song samples of theirs on the All Music Guide website and some of their earlier albums sound pretty cool. I was kind of curious if anyone knew much about their psychedelic albums and which ones were good to buy.

They didn't have any albums that were entirely psychedelic, but they did have some songs that had some heavy psychedelic elements included in them...

I was never really much of a fan, but the first three are really the only ones that I would suggest.

Children of the Future
Sailor
Brave New World

He really was more Blues-Rock than Psychedelic. That is before he went Pop-rock.
