David Gilmour's new album

Hi there, I'm new to this forum. For all you David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) fans, he has a new album coming out called "On An Island". There's a contest where you can win a trip to see David live in LA, plus an autographed guitar. Here's the link:

http://www.sonymusicstore.com/store/.../davidgilmour/

He'll be playing the Floyd classics, plus Rick Wright is joining him on tour.

Just thought I would let everyone know.

How's the sound? I'm a Pink Floyd fan. I have and love The Wall, DSOTM, AMLOR, and Animals. Is it something I would like, or is it a pretty big departure from those albums?

I saw Gilmour last night on The Tonight Show with Graham Nash and David Crosby... Their harmonies were a bit off but what they played (can't remember what is was called) sounded interesting... I assume it was from his new album...

Sounds like a lame smooth jazz album to me.

I had just listened to about handful of tracks from his new album and wasn't that impressed. It was ok but... just didn't hold my interest like his past solo work or PF work. Worth a listen but... I wouldn't buy this CD unless you are a die hard Gilmour fan IMHO
