i didn't take too much offense to this. they don't call IDM-heads "pompous chin-strokers" for nothing. plus, i can just sit back and realize that he hasn't expanded beyond the commercialized crap that is vomited out at raves and clubs. a lot of the music we listen to has drum and bass roots and there's a shit-ton more coming out that is quite beautiful and complex. you just have to dig thru the garbage sometimes.

btw, welcome to radiomute.

London Elektricity? it's kinda' mainstreamish though, or rather, just influenced by pop, r&b, & soul. the name of their new record is called "Power Ballads", so i take it you can make a judgement from that. i miss photek who hasnt put anything out in six years if i'm not mistaken. why are folks hatin on Dieselboy i dunno but i consider "The 6ixth Session" to be one of the crown jewels in dnb. his last two were really "evil". given wht you mentioned, id say check out "Troubled Waters" by Clever. he's quite the eccentric. hope i helped a bit.

Like some others said before, try Pendulum. They're really good. If you like Pendulum then try Aquasky too. I'm a fan of Roni Size too...not that complex though but it has the basslines.
