Exclamation Behringer

I went to MusicProduktiv yesterday to buy some gear (and I don't mean dope) and all I saw was Behringer here, Behringer there; basically Behringer everywhere. Unbelievable. When I first started buying stuff people where always like: Don't buy Behringer because the factory is going to close, and they won't make anymore equipment or reserve parts...

Now it's Behringer all around.

I bought my BFC1010 foot controller because it’s all midi. I’m looking for new ways to control the midi, and since my hands are full I figured I might just try my feet for a change. I already own a BCF2000 (midi fader controller) with which I’m quite content. Not only does it have 8 motorized faders and 32 ledded knobs, it also serves as 1 extra in / 2 extra out midi interface. However, the thing is not super well built. Every time I’m touching the faders I wonder how long it’s going to last. About a year now by the way, and no problems whatsoever, but still, you won’t be able to bash in anybodies head with it.

This is different for the foot controller. The thing is very well housed, and I think I would be able to jump on it of I wanted to. However, it makes a lot of goddamn noise. I have to turn it off when I’m working, because every time the music stops all you hear is BZZZZZZZZZ. Not a very pleasant sound. But what the heck, it works like hell…

… After I had recalibrated it! Because the foot controllers didn’t work at all when I got it in... I had to perform a certain combination of functions before I was able to use it. Same for the BCF2000. The faders didn’t budge at first when sliding them, there was a problem with the MIDI feedback, which could only be solved by installing new firmware. Noting I couldn’t solve, but it’s very frustrating when you buy something at it seems not to work!

So, the bottom line for me is: Behringer, it’s cheap as hell, and it won’t let you down, but the deal is just not as good as it looks. You’ll need to put in some effort!

I use a Behringer mixer all of the time...now it is a passive mixer as I use powered monitors but it is dead easy to use (in my application) and I don't get the noise associated with Behringer's reputation...I only record in audio so that takes away many of the tech(y) issues that many run in to.

I've got the Behringer V-amp for my guitar
Thinkin' bout getting som recorder cables for it so I can record stuff, and I'm also probably gonna get a new instrument cables, cause I think it's causing distortion to the sound.. Gonna get a Monster Cable standard..

I don't know about that.... I heard some bad stories 'bout that V-Amp... It could be the problem isn't in the cables.

Yeah, every person I've met who has used the V-Amp can't abuse it enough... signal distortion by the truck load apparently, although I've never used one before.

But every other Behringer product I've used has done the job, with the exception of some of their cheaper mixers (I'm guessing same distortion problems as the V Amp... completely muddled up some signals, and I'll be fucked as to why!).

Nah, it's not muddeled up, but theres noise in the background, even when using the Humbucker and humbuckers are buildt to prevent noise
