Unhappy Reason 2.0 (Fa real, yo!)

Hi. I have also obtained Reason 2.0. It is 'da bombe' or something. As well, I have the original Audigy (platinum Ex) soundcard and a 2.2 something Gig processor, 512 Megs a ram, and an 80 gig HD. However, like some crappy philosophical law suggests, all is not well in the land of computers. I have as well a MIDI Keyboard and therefore I enjoy a low latency of seven Milliseconds. For some idiotic reason (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha), the sound is terribly choppy and I basically can do nothing else but work with Reason without any other programs running, or die. I blame either my soundcard or some other bit of hardware, and I especially blame God. This is directly correlated with latency, cause when I whip up the ASIO to like 80 MS, the choppiness fades. Any hizzle yizzle can gizzle mizzle would be appreciatizzled. Pizzle!

Lightbulb try some optimizations...

try to disable or limit any feature that you don't really need it at the moment like live meters, video effects, other applications running in background (real-time antiviruses, monitoring etc). Also review and tune Reason settings in the same manner, to reduce everything that could eat processor time to process (lower sound resolution, effects etc). You better start from minimum to maximum while check the effect of each new component activation. As sample you can start with 22 khz mono / 8 bits sounds, try stop sound card polling, increase buffers available (this will higher up some delays), close all windows or samples that are not used at the moment. Mainly try help your PC to better run this memory hungry eater like Reason 2 is.
