hi im new to these forums , just wanted to give you my oppinion about songs i really like
Joshua Radin - Closer
Joshua Radin - The one You knew
Robbie Robertson - Shine your light (thats in my alltime top3 list)
Pretty much everything from MArk Schultz ( the romantic calm songs, not the high speed ones )
i love guitar songs wich involve gospelqoirs and big orchestras
typical example will be : DC TALK - in the light , thats a very good song
anyone else got any examples of songs like these?

Small review of favorite songs. Some of them.
I'm not familiar with Joshua or Robin. (Who do they sound like?)
But I've a few faves myself:
Genesis - In The Cage (70's Progressive - Excellent syncopation & big on keyboards)
Donald Fagen - The Nightfly (80's Jazz/Rock - Jazzy harmonies, the beat always makes me tap my foot, title track to album, popular tracks "New Frontier"&"Green Flower Street" Grammy nominee album Recomended)
Alan Parsons Project - The Three Of Me (90's Progressive/Pop - Eclectic words meet synth pop & orchestra)
Steely Dan - Green Earrings (70's Jazz/Rock - 16 feel, Up-beat, very funky, nice key change on the bridge, funky guitar solo serving as segue back into the song. Donald Fagen wrote and played keys, as he is one of the founding members of Steely Dan)
Alan Parsons Project - Time (80's Progressive/Pop Beautiful recording. Nice rythm acoustic guitar and piano with orchestra and rythm section. The Pink Floyd influence shows Big Time, after all, he was the recording engineer for Dark Side Of The Moon.
Genesis - Me and Sarah Jane (80's Progreesive/Rock - the studio version. Eclectic, Ear Candy. Nice Sparkly patches from Tony Banks who wrote.)
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Tarkus(Medley)(70's Progressive/Rock - From beginning to end you either love it or hate it. Heavy on Moog synth, Hammond B-3, Heavy drumming & Bass Guitar this to me is classic [more like SICK] Fast techinque & classically trained musicians. Recommended but be warned expect the unexpected)
Steely Dan - Aja (70's Jazz/Rock - Title track but the whole album is wortbuying, Grammy winner, paper thin equalization, laid back yet full of energy thanks to great dynamics by the performers. The Stand-Out is session drummer Steve Gadd who has recorded with Paul Simon in 50 ways to laeve your lover, & everybody and their dog. Plays two drum solos to cover over 16 bars while everyone else just comps in time. Tasty & loose!

Robbie Robertson is most well known, from the group The Band, which was a back up band first to Ronnie Hawkins (as The Hawks with Hawkins) and than Bob Dylan, before recording as The Band.
The Band's two best recordings, would be
Music from Big Pink
The Band

The Cure - Pictures of You
I'm not sure why, I think it's the atmosphere of the song.
