What Are You Listening to: Part Deux

Taking into account that newbies never bother to go through an entire thread, I think it's about time for a new thread. I believe, it would be a good idea, to do this, after every 1000th post.

This doesn't mean, any newbies shouldn't check out the older thread. There're many great recordings, mentioned in it!

Just came in the mail, bought with return money from Christmas:

OH YEAH!!!!

My advice to any and all neighbors who don't dig Miles: buckle your seatbelts, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

One of the great box sets, and documentation of a group performing live, over several nights in a row.

You even have a heckler, who doesn't care for Ron Carter's bass playing.

This is a live performance, from a couple days after he turned 80! There are musicians a quarter his age, that can't bring it with this much energy.

Joe McPhee- Tenor & Fallen Angels.

After this is over, maybe Gianni Gebbia's Sonic Tarot Tapes (forget the full title), but maybe not because I need to concentrate better on studying.

Andrew Hill - Time Lines

Andrew Hill - piano
Charles Tolliver - trumpet
Greg Tardy - tenor sax, clarinet, and bass clarinet
John Hebert - bass
Eric McPherson - drums

The latest from Andrew Hill. It will be released Feb. 21. If you're a fan of Hill (why you wouldn't be, Satchmo doesn't know) you will want this.

You better be studying! You don't want Satchmo, to put you in the corner!!

You already know, how I feel about those two recordings.

As with all things hatHut, the McPhee is out of print. As everyone knows, there is out of print and than there is Satchmo out of print.

Gebbia's Arcana Major/Sonic Tarots Session was a very limited edition release of 500. See above, about out of print items.
