You deserve it, I haven't even heard of around half of the musicians you've posted in here in the last couple days. And I thought this sort of thing was over when Seba drifted off into another hiatus.

Well, research is one thing, but knowing about a musician without listening to them is, to me at least, just name-dropping. If you ask me, you don't really know about a musician until you've listened to them (just like you don't know a movie or a play unless you've seen it, etc. etc.), and the listening/buying is what takes time. I suppose you and Seba are much older than me, so when I'm your respective ages I'll check myself on what shall henceforth be known as "The Seba/Equinox Scale," just to see how I'm doing. Do you download?

yeah, i download, but only usually if it's highly respectable by certain people or if it looks really interesting. Otherwise, I couldn't enjoy certain things. I feel bad about certain artists, but with my current money situation, there's not much else I can do.
...and i'm only 25, yet I know you are quite younger than me.

Yeah, when I'm in college and no longer have allowance/certain other ways to make money, I'll probably have to start doing some downloading myself. However, I really don't like downloading, so I'm trying to build up my collection right now as much as possible.

well, happy birthday here and i'll give ya a shoutout there too
I've been pretty broke the last 2 years of my life and am doing things to get by. Once I actually have the funds, I will definitely buy the cd's that I love. I've had to give up a lot over the years due to my issues, but it'll be ok.
really enjoying the Moncur, by the way.

Yes, I suppose I should've written "...to be semi-exact..."
It's my birthday, give me a break.

The Complete Blue Note Sam Rivers Sessions, and the disc which represents the above recording.
Sam Rivers - flut, soprano, tenor
Freddie Hubbard - trumpet
Herbie Hancock - piano
Ron Carter - bass
Joe Chambers - drums
A little bop-avant combination, that brings it!
It's a shame Grasshoppa Geryon isn't 21, because he could be checking out Rivers out on a weekly basis where he currently lives. Sam is 83-years-old, and except for having to sit to play, he has more energy and plays better than most a third his age. Schedule allowing, if I am within flight of him performing, I am going! Satchmo doesn't do that for just anyone.
YO!
