Steve Miller
I think the last concert I saw was Steve Miller Band. Always great of course. He's still got it.
I was supposed to see Nickel Creek in Baltimore last month but they cancelled 2 months before. I didn't realize until the day of, I checked the venue's website for directions. Now they have broken up. Sad.

jazzfromhell's annual Bridge School Benefit report:
Neil Young - Played a few songs for the opening; "I am a Child," "Comes A Time", I think a couple others. Had his Native American friends come out and bless the stage, people attending, etc., played with them a bit. Solid, pretty much the same every year, he more presents the concert than stars in it.
Devendra Banhart - I haven't really heard anything by this guy, but I liked him a lot. I have one of his bootlegs, I'll have to check it out. Reccomended for fans of kinda soft, a bit folky acoustic music. Looks kinda like Charles Manson.
Gillian Welch - Haven't heard of her before, pretty much a standard female folk singer. Good, but not particularly different.
Death Cab For Cutie - I'm not a fan, I don't hate them, but I don't really like them, either. They're tolerable. We went out to get sodas during their set, so we only saw the last two songs.
Trent Reznor - Very, very good. Played right as dusk was coming on, and into the dark. As his band, used two cellos, an upright bass, and a violin, while he played maracas/piano/etc. Wasn't sure what he was going to do, but I think it turned out pretty well. My second favorite act of the show.
Foo Fighters - Pretty good, I'm not a huge fan, but I like them. Pat Smear was on guitar, which made me very excited, but he was basically on back up and the camera never showed him, so sinc ewe were up in the grass it was like he wasn't there. Lame.
Brian Wilson - Holy fucking shit. Stole the show by a mile. I love the Beach Boys, but I wasn't expecting it to be that great. He had a full band, so it sounded just like the record. Everyone was dancing, singing, jumping around, it was so much fun. Definitely going to see him next time he's here. At one point, had the audience start singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" before heading into Johnny B. Goode, or some other fucking great song. Jesus Christ, this was so good.
Pearl Jam - Really good, I need to listen to more of them, I've been meaning to get more of their CDs for a while. Played a song with Neil Young. Eddie Vedder is one of the musicians I respect most as a person, really a great guy.
Dave Matthews Band - Alright, from what I saw, I kinda like them, but not that much. Everyone was tired and no one had any strong desire to see them, so we left in the middle of their second song.
Overall, great show. Can't wait til next year's.

Went to a gig last night. I saw three bands, but can't remember the name of the first one. They sucked anyway.
2nd band was the best: Bad Preachers. Speedrock from Belgium. Amazing!
Last band was Bible of the devil, a band from Chicago. Very nice guitar sound. Reminded me of old Maiden en Priest at times. (guitars that is)
PA was amazing as well! Location was too great! I'll see more gigs over there I think...

So, december 2nd I survived SPEEDFEST 2006. Amazing line-up! Sound and stage setup could be better, and them fucking BLOOD&HONOUR T-shirt wearing motherfuckers should have stayed away as well... That's why I didn't stayed the whole evening. The number of fascists kept growing and reached it's climax during The Exploited. I saw 10 minutes of that gig, and then I left. Was the last band anyway.
I missed Bad Preachers and Tech9 due to the excellent weed they had in the coffeeshops from Eindhoven Rockcity. Great cake as well. Hehe (that's cake, with an A!!)
First band I saw was Bang Bang Bazooka, Eindhoven's own rockabilly treasure. Excellent band, poor performance. After that it was time for Nashville Pussy, once again great band, poor performance.
El Guapo Stuntteam was up next, representing Belgium. They did an excellent job.
Peter Pan Speedrock was the band that organised it all, as a dvd-release party. I saw them play better shows. They probably had alot on their heads that night.
Than finally the band that couldn't fuck up for me: DEMENTED ARE GO. I don't remember the sound and the quality. Just the 'zone' I was in. And it was excellent! Pics and videos I took are here: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...5-af0288612661
Last band up was Exploited, and like I said, I left because of the amount of fuckin nazi scum. Didn't mind at all. Demented rocked!!
Next gig will probably be in January.
Listened to Cell Mates with Nobody's guy
