Local Bands

There are lots of great local bands in here in NC, and I’m willing to bet that there’s some where you live. How about some names and maybe a little description. I travel every so often, and when I do I’m always looking for a good show to go to. Here’s a few my way.

Your Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band

This is one hell of a funk band. Costumes, horns, booty. . . they got it all.

Hobex

Really good Funk/Rock classic with an R&B flavor. The singer was the singer for Dillon Fence.

The Amateurs Reggae Band

These guys f’in rock. The best reggae band I’ve ever seen.

Little Dave Stuart and the Howling Blues Band

Texas blues, but he does it well.

The Olympic Ass-Kicking Team

These guys only play once in a while, but you never know what you’re going to see. I’m pretty sure that each show has a different theme. One night ZZ Top cover band, next night eighty’s pop. All of them are local music teachers I think.

All local bands here are goth-zombies, best if avoided.

Just take a shotgun with you. Haven't you seen those movies. Shotguns always kill 'em.

Well I might be able to kill some of them, but then they'd be all over me. I better just stay out of their way.

There are a couple decent bands around Seoul. They all play in the 'underground' discrict called Hongdae. Two to mention are No Brain and Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter (yes, that's the band's name, but it's originally written/said in Korean: 봄,여름,가,겨울). 봄,여름,가,겨울 do an excellent cover of 'Let it Be'.
