The North Carolina music scene is filled with a vibe that is very much unique and southern all at the same time. I just purchased an album buy these guys and they rock.

I'm all about the all-ages scene in my area, but being all young, impressionable youth, it's generally run by the older fellows who haven't moved on.

It's mostly all Hardcore and various screaming genres, but a few notable bands are around being Wintersleep, Joel Plaskett and few really great bands in the bar scene but I get such a rare chance to see them

There's a band called one eyed stanley from around here, they site elvis costello, pavement and the flaming lips as influences, but really i think they sound more like zappa and moe. They're on iTunes, myspace, and purevolume, I saw them last week, they're really great. The music is much more tasteful and interesting than the regular playlists of the people I see rocking at their concerts.

the superhero letdown are a hardcore ska band, also from around here, and while I love them, they're really only I live experience, their recorded stuff is more novelty music.

Of course Boston has also produced such amazing and varied talents as the click five and jojo, whom you should all check out.
