Need Help

I have this mixer and I can't get it plugged into the computer. I have plugged it into the audio section of my computer and nothing happened. Am I plugging it in the wrong place? Here's a pic of my mixer. Click Here!

If anyone knows how to plug a mixer into a computer, I would appreciate the help. This is my first mixer so I don't really know exactly what I am doing.

Well... do you want your computer to be playing through your mixer?

If so, run a 3.5mm jack from the 'Line Out' on your computer, buy a 3.5mm to 5.5mm adpator, and plug it into the input of the first channel of your mixer.

If you want to run your mixer through your computer, use a 2xRCA to 3.5mm jack cable, using two RCA to 5.5mm jack adaptors. Connect the RCA jacks into the MIXER OUT on your mixer, and the 3.5mm jack into the 'Line In' on your computers.

Thats just some really vague advice, if you tell me what your trying to achieve I might be able to give some better advice.

Well, I bought this chord that's red and white (audio chords), they're like the chords that fit into your VCR. But the other end is just a regular looking plug and I don't know where it goes on my computer. I tried plugging it into the audio and the headphone's section on my computer, but nothing happened.

And I don't really know what I want to do with it. It just says I can plug it into my computer and I just wanna see what it does plugged into the computer.

I have the Behringer MX 1604A mixer and I had a special soundcard installed to accept the 'inputs'. I am unsure about regular soundcards that computers have as standard equipment but I know one major difference is the quality of the analog/digital converters. One great option is the Audiophile 24/96 which happens to be the card that I have...the thing that makes it 'great' now is that they are dead cheap compared to the $250.00 that it was when I got mine.

Err... sorry, then it'll be incredibly hard to help you. Nothing magical is going to happen when you plug it into your computer... I think your not quite sure of what a mixer actually does?

I know what it does. I just don't know what it does while plugged into the computer. Actually, I have no idea what it does whilst plugged into the computer.

Not a great deal mate!

You can run a line from the MIXER OUT to the LINE IN of your computer, and then using software you'll be able to record whatever is going through your mixer. Or you can run a line from the LINE OUT of your computer to one of the inputs of your mixer, so whatever you play on your computer will come through your mixer.

Other than that, you cant do fuck all with it.
