I'm not sure what to get. I have an M-Audio Delta 66 sound card, but I'm having some peaking issues and my buddy has the delta 1010, and said he had to get a Mic Pre-Amp. So I'm really not sure what to get. I have some ideas though

FMR - Really Nice Mic- Amp
M-Audio - DMP3 or Audio buddy
Studio Projects - VTB1

Any thoughts?

I've been looking at the mic preamps as well...do a google search on them and see what you think the reviews are like...my impressions are that the FMR-RNP is the best of the bunch that you mention but that isn't by practical experience it is just by the reviews I've seen. I use the ART Tube MP V3 currently instead of using the pre's in my Behringer MX 1604A but you can hear SO many people say SO many bad things about that particular pre...and about the stock ones in Behringer mixers but...you can hear for yourself...

...the music may not be 'your thing' but you can hear the recordings and whatnot...almost every time a mic was plugged in it was plugged into the Tube MP.
