Britney Fueling Terrorism

I am not a huge fan of pop music but I was watching a new show on cable about terrorist sleeper cells and they mentioned something about hating Britney Spears! I work for Showtime which is the channel the show airs but it made me think about why terrorists hate us so much. I guess they see our pop stars as a serious decline in civilization but why Britney in particular? I am not sure if these cells are as big a threat as they make them out to be on the show but i suppose its worth discussion. Do you think that pop culture is driving the terrorists to hate everything about America?

Good thing to know.

Let's take Britney down range and use her as a bait. Osama & pals will immediately come outta their caves and try to kill her.

Hey, that way we can take care of both Osama & Britney.

Yea right, because in reality there's no terrorism going on at all; it's all made up so the neo-cons have something to do and don't get bored.

Boy, I wonder why it took 'em 'til 9/11 to come up with that idea...

there always has and will always be 'terrorism' but the way that it's manipulated in the media is just like tanjello says. they're using britney as a simple example because she's still engrained within the social subconscious of america. everyone still remembers her regardless of how pathetic she's become over the last few years.

the obsession with celebrity in north america is really getting ridiculous, i remember hearing something about programs like entertainment tonight and extra were getting better ratings than the nightly news. although i'm sure that's changed a bit since 9/11 and mainstream media started being used in a more controlling fashion.

i've said it for a while now there's a new illiteracy problem creeping up and it's not about letters and numbers anymore it's all about the media.

So if we don't buy Britney Spear's records, we're with the terrorists? Interesting.

I wouldn't be to sure of that. The 64th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor was a blip on the screen, in comparision to the attention Lennon's 2th Anniversary recieved.

Anyhoo, considering their in caves and might not be up to date on matters, they could have been only recently just as mystified as everyone else about this.

id like to see some statistics on how many times "weapons of mass-destruction" has been said on tv during the last 4-5 years. always makes me sick hearing that. i bet most people dont even know what that is. probably thinks its some sort of death-machine owned by most people in the middle east.

usa is the ones with most weapons of mass-destruction, but thats irrelevant, because we in the west are civilised people, and people in iraq are animals with a desire to kill.

but i digress.
we could send britney to iraq and make a show out of it. make her bring that husband of hers.
