Top 5 Bluesmen of the 20th Century

I know, another list. And as usual, I'll get back to it.

Well, here's my ignorant list. I'm still a relative novice in the world of the blues, but hopefully this isn't too horrible. I'm just basing this on what I've come to understand as artists of particular innovation, not really on "favorites".

Of course, this will have to be cleared with Satchmo.

Charley Patton
Lonnie Johnson
Blind Willie McTell
Robert Johnson
T-Bone Walker

I would add Albert Collins to the list. I've always enjoyed a little humor with my blues.

Keep in mind this is intended as sperate from the guitarists thread -- this is overall ability in all areas.

What do you mean by over all ability? What would be some categories. You talkin' like, longevity, innovation, lyrical content, etc. . . right.

Willie Dixon might warrant a spot on the list.

Isn't the blues phenomenon pretty much exclusive to the 20th century anyway?
