The fact that I haven't heard of this band, or their music, until now, makes me very sad. I think. I'm not sure yet.  It may take a while, but I think I'm interested.  And yes, I did bother looking up what the name refers to...

They actually don't sound weird to me now cause I'm used to them but when I first heard the name I thought they were strange. Well one was just plain disgusting but the others were strange.

No one mentioned Butthole Surfers?
Most radio stations wouldn't even say their name on the air, they'd say BH Surfers.
Most stores wouldn't sell their records, and if they did they would cover up the name.
Of course that was back in the 80s.
But I still think it holds up as one of the most awesome and weird band names ever
